E85
What Is It?
E85 is so called because it is an 85% blend of bio ethanol, mixed with 15% traditional petrol. Similar to bio diesel, bio ethanol is a petrol-like fuel derived from agricultural means.
How Is It used?
The fuel can be used in most petrol vehicles with only a very small modification. Typically, this involves fitting a small electronic component which adjusts the valve timings of the vehicle, and requires no mechanical modification whatsoever.
Where Is It used?
The fuel is extremely popular in Brazil, where the fuel is predominantly sourced from sugar cane crops.
Greenfuel is currently undertaking extensive tests on various systems to adapt vehicles to become capable of using E85. We hope to launch this product in forthcoming months.
However, it should be emphasised that using E85 will initially be more expensive than unleaded petrol until such time as the duty regime is changed by the government.
